Abduction

Brad Carter

A troubled young boy (Matthew) has been sent to visit a psychiatrist (Dr. Bruce) to undergo hypnotic regression after having nightmares and making some unusual claims at school. He visits Dr Bruce for help, but not everything is as it seems.
Is the Doctor there to help the patient? Or is it the other way round?

Behind the scenes of Abduction

Abduction was shot over three days in three different locations. The hypnotic regression scene was shot in the actual home of the actor Sonny Chatters who plays Matthew, the running shots were filmed down by the river at the end of the same road. I was lucky enough to shoot the green screen footage in the studio of a local agency that i was freelancing at, at the time. Everything for the main film was shot on two Canon 7D's. All audio at the time was recorded with a RODE NTG 2 Shotgun mic with additional ADR recorded in post with a RODE NT2. Much of the behind the scenes footage was shot with the iPhone 6+. I decided against using a lot of the green screen and VFX shots in the final cut. With only three minutes to play with, I felt that too many visual effects would distract the viewer from the story.
