'Disconnect' is an experimental film, exploring teenage depression and angst in a unique way, intended as an immersive experience for the audience, by creating a challenging and somewhat confronting perspective.
I wanted to make an experimental film that was artistic, unique and expressive, by using a combination of different approaches and techniques
- a self-authored haiku instead of dialogue
- a specialised lens to produce a dream-like, disconnected feeling
- point-of-view and handheld, to create an immersive feeling for the audience
The final shot of the film required lowering a camera 12 metres over a cliff to the ocean below.
