Position Overview

It is the role of Equipment Engineer to ensure that RØDE utilises the investment in equipment in our SMT/PCBA areas by having a preventative and breakdown maintenance specialist. This will reduce the number of unscheduled delays. The Equipment Engineer will work closely with the SMT/PCBA Manager and SMT department to provide preventative and reactive maintenance and process improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining all production equipment to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards.
  • Performing routine equipment verification and validation.
  • Backup support for the SMT/PCBA Process Engineering Team.
  • Effectively manage equipment spare parts and consumables.
  • Implement software programming changes to improve equipment efficiency.
  • Monitor and take remedial action to improve OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency).
  • Design, procure and implement process equipment improvements.
  • Review and action facility improvements related to the role.
  • Other duties as required by their manager. 

You will require the following skills and experience to be successful:

  • Degree in either mechanical, electrical, electronic or process engineering or related field.
  • NSW Electrical License or Lean Manufacturing will be highly regarded.
  • Certificate in Work Health and Safety management is desired.
  • Strong understanding of Work Health and Safety legal requirements. Including machine guarding, AS4024.1602 (2024).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Good understanding of mechanical and facility maintenance principles and systems, including the use of hand tools.
  • Experience managing maintenance and facility personnel.
