Your responsibilities will include:

·       Utilize CAD software to create precise technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams based on product design concepts.

·       Collaborate closely with product designers and engineers to understand design requirements and ensure feasibility.

·       Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to accurately define the geometry and tolerance of product features.

·       To understand and calculate stack-up analysis of systems and sub-systems generating appropriate tolerances.

·       Utilize probability and statistics to analyse data and make informed decisions during the design process.

·       Conduct thorough reviews and revisions of drafts to incorporate feedback and maintain accuracy.

·       To execute minor 3D CAD model updates.

·       Maintain organized documentation of design iterations, revisions, and specifications.

·       Collaborate with Quality Control (QC) and metrology teams to ensure that designs meet quality standards and specifications.

·       Support Cross-Functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept to production.

·       Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and trends in product design and drafting.

You will require the following qualifications and/or skills and experience to be successful:

·       Bachelor's degree, TAFE or equivalent in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or related field.

·       Extensive experience as a draftsperson, preferably in product design or a related field.

·       Good written skills and capable of writing technical reports.

·       Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, OnShape, or similar tools.

·       Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

·       Familiarity with Quality Control (QC) processes and metrology techniques.

·       Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

·       A portfolio showcasing previous design drafts, projects, or relevant work samples is desirable.

·       Experience with BOM and PDM management.

·       Experience with metrology tools and measurement systems and techniques.

·       Experience with creating technical documentation including Inspection Reports.
